ROMNEY & ROMDALE

Ram Breeding

Turanganui Romneys provides a balanced genetic package, centred on traits worth most to the commercial farmer. Our main breeding goals are to make our customers’ sheep more profitable to farm, and for continual improvement with our sheep, through genetic science.

We run 1,300 hoggets mated and 4,300 ewes – all fully recorded on the SIL database. We also run 1,000 beef cattle.

Turanganui Romney and Romdale stud rams are sold on-farm for 4-5 weeks from November each year, to clients from the North and South Island. Distance isn’t an issue and we can arrange transportation – we send sheep as far as the Chatham Islands.

Clients can choose stud rams in person, or we pick on their behalf. Contact us to discuss your performance needs and price bracket, if you’re interested in becoming a client.
